So, over the weekend it was brought to my attention that the band A PLEA FOR PURGING has produced and is starting to sell WE’RE FAT LET’S PARTY tees, which are a lazy ripoff of my I’M FAT LET’S PARTY shirts, which I’ve been selling since early 2010.  Lots of bands do parody shirts, but this is a ripoff, not a parody. There’s virtually nothing about this tee to differentiate it from the original, creating market confusion and hurting my business.  Other than Twitter, the only contact info given on their site is their manager’s email (sent him a Cease & Desist) and their record label (I sent them one too). So far, I haven’t heard back from either of them, so I’ve really got no choice but to make it public, if for no other reason than to establish mine as the original on Google searches or get a response out of them other than this adorably flippant response from their lead singer or whatever on his Tumblr.
