This is awesome, and I’m already in for one.

BUT! Whoever is making and selling these should really be giving all of the profits from these sales to a non-profit science or astronomy organization.

There’s nothing awesome about this. With Cafepress, Cafepress is getting the bulk of the money (margins are really low), and this design was made with a simple Photoshop filter and someone who searched for a “space font.” 

EDIT: Someone informed me that this image is hosted on the JPL’s website, meaning that presumably someone in-house designed this. SORRY, I CAN’T EVEN BEGIN TO FATHOM THE WORK YOU DO AT YOUR DAY JOB, but even you have to know you can do better! You deserve better than this. 

If NASA can land the Mars Rover, then SURELY someone can design a better tee than this. NASA should release some cute tees with stuff like this to help spread awareness of cool things they do - sure, the money they’d make off of the t-shirt game would’t even be a drop in the bucket as far as the money needed to land things on other planets, but SURELY it could go to something better than dumbass Cafepress.
